  • "I had no idea what any of the special education language meant when my child qualified for an IEP. Leanndra helped me take a breath and learn how to talk with his teachers and administrators. She was patient and always made me feel like I could ask her anything. My role changed as a parent and now I spend more time playing and laughing with my kids instead of stressing over school."

    - Colleague

  • "Leanndra is a strong and kind person who will go above and beyond for the students and families she serves. As I got to know her better as a person, I learned how seriously she took her role as a leader. Leanndra is a force that you want in your corner. She is assertive, fair, and not afraid of challenging practices that have never been questioned."

    - Colleague

  • "When I consulted with Leanndra I realized I had been doing a lot of the right things. She helped me organize my thoughts and put together talking points for my child's upcoming meeting. After the meeting, she followed up and coached me on writing a follow up email to the school."

  • “I cannot imagine how difficult school would have been for my son without Leanndra's help. She supported my family during the evaluation process when my son was in 2nd grade and contributed to his initial IEP. My child is now in middle school and is thriving because of the strong foundation that was created for him!"

  • "Mrs. Yates always made me feel welcome and valued. Moving to a new school during a pandemic can be a little intimidating. However, she and the rest of her administrative team made me feel a part of the Irish family."

    - Former Student

  • "Leanndra oversaw the special education department in our building of over 1,400 students. She collaborated with district leaders and other administrators to strengthen our district's intervention process and was always in the middle of new innovative problem solving. Creating an environment that was welcoming and inclusive for all of our students, their families, and our teachers was at the center of our work together."

    -Colleague

  • "Leanndra took time with me when no one else would. She actually listened to me and made me feel heard. The school was very challenging, but she helped me stay strong and helped me find people in the district who would advocate on my behalf as I became more independent."
